The Science and Application of Plants to Sustain and Enhance Human Life

Transfer from UNO to CASNR

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) cooperates with the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in providing four-semester agricultural sciences, natural resources, food science and technology, and horticulture transfer programs. A student enrolled in these programs may transfer all satisfactorily completed academic credits identified in the suggested program of study, and enter CASNR to study toward a major leading to a Bachelor of Science Degree in agricultural sciences or Bachelor of science Degree in natural resources. The total program would require a minimum of four years or eight semesters (16 credit hours/semester or 128 credit hours). Approved credit hours from other institutions may also be applied in fulfilling the UNL requirements at time of transfer.

In addition, UNL coursework may be taken to meet specified distribution credit requirements at UNO; to meet requirements for a Horticulture Minor at UNO; for industry training opportunities; and for general student and public interest.

The program is housed in the Department of Biology at UNO and shares quality laboratory, greenhouse and classroom resources with the Biology Department and other colleges and programs at UNO.
