Description: Under the guidance and supervision of their graduate advisory committee, Master of Agriculture students are required to develop and complete a one- to six-credit-hour, non-thesis-based project which enables them to synthesize and apply knowlege gained from their area of concentration to meet an agricultural or horticultural challenge. Specifically, students are required to:
- Research a particular need or problem in their field of interest, then develop a project proposal based on that research, obtaining final approval from their advisory committee. The proposal will include a description of the need or problem and describe what they propose to investigate or develop and the anticipated impact.
- Complete activities necessary to carry out the project.
- Write a project summary paper.
- Give a public presentation describing the project and its impact.
- Pass a comprehensive exam (oral or written) covering the project.
