How to Apply

Admission Requirements:

Department Admission Requirements for a Thesis Option:

  • one semester calculus
  • one semester chemistry
  • one semester physics (excluding soil physics)
  • two semesters biological sciences
  • an additional semester of either physics or chemistry
  • GRE general test scores (Institution Code R6877; Department Code 0104)
  • statement of interest and goals *
  • verification of English proficiency required for international students (TOEFL code 6877)  Minimum score:  500 paper-based, 173 computer-based, 61 internet-based)

Department Admission Requirements for a Non-Thesis Option II (M.S. only) :

  • one semester plant production or plant system management
  • one semester soil science
  • one semester biological science
  • one semester chemistry
  • one semester algebra
  • statement of interest and goals *
  • three letters of recommendation *

These requirements can be met by having satisfactorily completed the courses, taken equivalent courses, tested out of the above courses, exceeded the entry level requirements of the undergraduate degree grant institution and had these courses waived, or take the deficient course(s) early in the graduate program.
