Description:  This course introduces students to turf diseases, including current and emerging diseases.  Emphasis is on diseases prevalent in the Great Plains area of the U.S.; concepts will apply to turf diseases occurring in other parts of the world.  Topics include pathogen biology, disease cycles, epidemiology and plant health management strategies.  

Instructor:  Dr. Gary Yuen

Delivery:  Internet/Blackboard only.  This class does not have a resident section.

Requirements:  Internet access and e-mail.  Students taking the course for academic credit are expected to read assigned text and Internet-based materials and pass quizzes delivered through the Internet.  Students must also complete a short written project requiring application of course materials.

Prerequisites:  Students taking this course for academic credit must be admitted to UNL and have completed PLPT 369 or an equivalent introductory-level plant pathology course.  Students taking the course for graduate credit must also be admitted to UNL's Graduate School.
