Distance Education & Life-Long Learning Program
|
Education is not a "one-size-fits-all" proposition. Maybe you'd like to return to college and pursue a graduate degree in agronomy, but your time, schedule, location, work or family commitments don't allow you to take traditional "resident" classes on campus. Perhaps you don't need a full degree, just certain courses or workshops to enhance your career or further your personal or professional development goals. These and other reasons bring adult learners to our online courses and other life-long learning opportunities. At UNL's Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, we offer a complete online non-thesis M.S. in Agronomy degree program, as well as a variety of courses and workshops to meet the needs of nondegree-seeking students and life-long learners. The majority of our classes and workshops, listed below by topic area, are offered for academic credit, as well as for noncredit professional development. Unless otherwise indicated, all courses are offered for one academic credit. To earn academic credit for courses, students must be enrolled in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; graduate students are also required to be admitted to UNL's Graduate School. Academic students are expected to complete assignments which go beyond what is expected of students taking classes for noncredit professional development. Earned academic credits can be applied towards related degree programs at UNL, undergraduate or graduate, or transferred to other institutions. For detailed information on courses listed in the table, below, simply click on the course name. If you have additional questions, please contact Cathy Dickinson, 402.472.1730, e-mail: cdickinson2@unl.edu. You are also welcome to contact individual instructors, whose contact information can be accessed by clicking on their names adjacent to or within course listings. |
