RESEARCH INTERESTS:

I coordinate the statewide variety tests for corn, soybean, wheat, and grain sorghum. I want to make variety test data easier to interpret and use by taking advantage of advances in computers and global positioning technology.

I work with alternate crops and their adaptability to Nebraska agriculture.

MAJOR PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

  • Canola
    • Winter survival information along with yield data.
  • Corn
    • Skip row drought avoidance study
  • Genotype by variety interactions of crops grown in statewide variety testing program

EXTENSION INTERESTS:

I use the world wide web and print media to distribute the results of variety test data in a timely fashion each year. I am involved in winter workshops aimed at enhancing the use of variety test data to make decisions about variety and hybrid selection.
